British street artist Banksy has stunnedthe art world with arguably his mostaudaciousprankyet,self-destructingone of his best-known works moments after itfetchedmore than 1 million pounds at auction in London. "Girl with Balloon" had just sold at Sotheby's Friday for 1.04 million pounds when it unexpectedly passed through ashredderhidden in the frame.

"A few years ago I secretly built a shredder into a painting, in case it was ever put up for auction," readcaptionsdisplayed overfootageof a man crafting the device into afaux-giltframe.

The video later shows scenes from Sotheby's, where onlookersare leftaghastas an alarm sounds and most of the image drops down through the frame and is left shredded. "It appears we just got Banksy-ed," said Alex Branczik, Sotheby's head of contemporary art for Europe, in a press release.

Actress Fan Bingbing has been ordered to pay more than 800 million yuan in tax and fines, the country's tax authorities said. Although Fan was paid 30 million yuan for her role in the film "Unbreakable Spirit", she only declared10 million yuan, while the other 20 million yuan was left out of her contract, thusevading7.3 million yuan in taxes, according to an investigation conducted by the State Administration ofTaxationand the Jiangsu Provincial Tax Service, Xinhua reported.

Fan and her companies also owe 248 million yuan in taxes, the report said. Authorities have ordered Fan to pay the said taxes, an overdue feeof 33 million yuan and a fine of 596 million yuan based on relevant laws and regulations, Xinhua reported.

Prices, services boost travel

Nearly 730 million trips were made by Chinese travelers within China over the seven-day National Day holiday, a year-on-yearincrease of 9.43%, thanks to cheaper tickets and higher-quality travel services, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Travel and tourism-related revenue tallied between Monday and Sunday hit nearly 600 billion yuan, up 9.04% compared with 2017.
