Well hes 100% now but he hasn't played actual 5v5 in months so they don;t want to just throw him in there. They have been super careful with him since last season and he's been focusing on getting stronger to prevent issues in the future.

Right now, yes. But I don't think that they're going to bench Lonzo unless it's due to injury or Rondo is clearly outplaying him during the season. It's like when you have an established, older QB who'll win some games for you now, but you have a young QB who needs reps so that you can evaluate him for the future.

I get /r/NBA likes to meme but I don't get how more people won't acknowledge this. Rondo is clearly the better player if they're trying to win. I'd expect him and LeBron to play well together, they're both smart playmakers.

Rondo is clearly the better player if they're trying to win.
There's more to it than that. In Phil's book he went into good detail about playing young guys early if you have hopes that he can or may have to contribute in May and June. This is probably the biggest reason both Kerr and Luke play lineups in the regular season that drives everyone insane. Lonzo needs to play because there is absolutely a possibility that he will be a better player than Rondo by the end of this year
